Southern Hospitality

Tonight we ventured out in the cold mist that is blanketing Atlanta in search of dinner. We tried a few places that had been recommended by Lonely Planet and locals; they all had waits! We finally found once place that had one table for two left; Empire State South, "Known for its high end souther fare" (http://www.empirestatesouth.com). It didn't disappoint!

The waiter and a table with a local couple recommend a local IPA beer and a few items to share from the starter menu. They were House Charcuterie (a great selection of house made meats and pickles), Farm Egg (chicken sausage, cauliflower, harissa, yogurt, fried rice and a poached egg) and finally; SC Shrimp (Prawns, Chorizo vinaigrette and chicharrones). If you're ever in Atlanta its worth checking out.

The fog had rolled in a little more to make the walk back to the hotel 'magical' with all the lights from christmas lights and the buildings. The hotel disappears in to the mist above.
